How to choose the right electrical contractor

1. Do a dept licence check at: http://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/building
   Our company ACE (Aaron’s complete Electrical) Pty Ltd licence number is: 176457C and Aaron is our supervisor, his licence number is 95099C.
   
   

2. Ask for a copy of their insurances.
   If your tradesmen don’t have the correct insurance you may be liable for their work on your home. Public Liability insurance is a must and workers compensation insurance is required if they have employee’s. ACE is fully insured and we have copies of both of these insurances available for you to see. E-mail us your request for our insurances and we will forward all of the relevant documents straight back to you.
   
   

3. Be aware of your rights.
   Visit the fair-trading website and check out the consumer building guide at:
   www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/pdfs
   
   

4. When the job is finished you get a copy of the certificate of compliance.
   Every electrical installation completed the contractor is required to give the client a copy of one of these.

5. Get all contact details.
   Pick a contractor that is established and not going to disappear. Make sure you have a few different ways of getting a hold of them when you need. Get everything in writing; this just eliminates the possibility of a dispute.
